Why our guides are different
We do not pretend to have tested every wagon. Our guides organize the information that is hard to get from a single product page: how specifications compare, where owners report problems, and what independent tests found, with the source named.
Our methodology Editorial standards How affiliate links work
What the brand says: weight limits, minimum ages, wheel types, "all-terrain". We attribute these to the manufacturer and flag it when sources disagree.
What others measured or owners report: steering effort, fold time, trunk fit, wear. We name the source rather than present it as our own testing.
Where a review is based on hands-on use, it says so. Otherwise it is research-based.
Safety basics
Use the harness on every ride and on every seat. The American Academy of Pediatrics' stroller guidance describes a five-point harness; many wagons use three-point harnesses, so check each model.
Manufacturers set a minimum age, often 6 months and only once a child sits unassisted, and some set it higher. Follow it.
Check both the limit per seat and the total. Gear counts toward the total.
Engage the parking brake whenever you stop. The AAP advises brakes that are easy to use and lock two wheels.
A wide base resists tipping. Do not hang bags from the handles; use baskets, placed low and near the rear wheels.
Match the wheels to your ground. Sand, slopes and curbs need extra care with children aboard.
Many wagons are not designed for newborns. A few offer car seat adapters; confirm compatibility with the manufacturer.
Read the manual and check recalls before you buy and after.
